UMTS HSDPA with Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Debian and USB MW503HSA Wave Wind and others)
Categories: downloads , guides , internet , Support

1) Go to this site
https://forge.betavine.net/frs/?group_id=12
and download, in the case of Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint or Ubuntu Netbook Remix, the files are:
- Ozerocdoff_0.4_i386.deb
- Usb-modeswitch_0.9.7_i386.deb
- Vodafone-mobile-connect_svn20090615_all.deb
(You must download the version of X64 packages if you are using a 64bit version of Linux)
(If different versions of linux to see the list to download the 3 packages as appropriate)

2) Install the files in the order I wrote them (even require you to download the dependencies, so it would be better to be connected to the internet even with the LAN)

3) perform an update cycle of the system packages

4) Insert the pen-modem, wait for the little light LED is stabilized, green or blue for GPRS-EDGE to UMTS

5) Create a new connection manager by your connections

working with these packages, please note that the recognition of the modem sometimes does not happen you have to remove the pen and hang up, wait 30 seconds then go to network manager and connect, then if you're lucky and you work prog. vodafone you're lucky you can manage email, sms, etc. traffic.
prog. Vodafone and the 'open so it' can be used with all operators, but many users complain 'cause I'm also not a prob. similar prog. starts with the first user while the second does not start if it is not part of the Prog. you can connect with network manager works great

The existing access points for Italy are:
Tim: ibox.tim.it
Vodafone web.omnitel.it
Wind: internet.wind
H3G: tre.it
H3G (option Naviga3): naviga.tre.it
